I love Daffodils – they’re my absolute favorite flower! They are really seasonally ‘out of season’ here in Gauteng – meaning, they’re really a spring flower in the northern hemisphere, but that’s just the most amazing thing about them – in SA they’re always available right on time from early February (my birthday 😉 ) through Easter into autumn. They bring with them the last bit of golden glow when summer is about to end and are a true heart-warming visual display of new life and purity.
May the humble splendour of these bell-shaped beauties remind you of just that – new life even though autumn (and winter) are knocking at your door.
May they remind you of the Mastermind who created them and blesses us with their perfect timing.
So, whatever you serve on your Easter Sunday breakfast table –
Hot-cross buns, chocolate eggs, cute little bunnies with gold ribbon bows and spring chickens,
do yourself a favor and purchase a bunch of glorious sunshine
and consider yourself really really fortunate if you have someone who’ll bless you
with a posy of this mellow yellow magic.
Happy Easter Allermooistes! And New Hope and New Life to you all! xx
